As we begin to look into 2026, I’d like to offer you the word I’ve been meditating on recently:Reset.
If you follow me onInstagram, you may have seen that I welcomed a new puppy into my life. While he is absolutely adorable, I forgot just how all-encompassing a puppy can be. Nearly all of my routines went out the window, and almost a month later, I’m clearly seeing how much I need a reset.

The New Year often arrives with resolutions, goals, dreams, and the emotional high of starting something new. For some, this can be deeply motivating—but for many, it’s short-lived. As my body feels sore from not moving regularly, my mind feels unsettled from skipping my morning meditation, and my spirit feels dulled from missing my quiet time, I’ve been noticing how tempting it is to search for anewsolution to feel better.
But I know myself well enough to know this: I don’t need something new. I need to return to what I already know.
This disconnect from my self-care routines has lingered longer than I expected, and now I’m being invited to make a conscious choice—to reset and to do what I know supports me. The allure of something new and flashy often makes big promises, but through my years of practicing Mindful Living, I’ve learned that those promises are often false. They can become unconscious distractions—subtle excuses that keep us from returning to the simple, steady work that truly nourishes us.
