Hi friends,
'What am I noticing? And can I honor it instead of fighting it?'
These are the questions I found myself sitting with after practicing "Coming Back to Awareness" throughout the month of May.
Awareness did its job, but I didn't particularly like what it was revealing to me.
I was exhausted and didn't fully understand why.
I was grateful for new things, yet found they weren't filling the hopes and expectations I had attached to them.
I found myself wanting to go back to how things were—or at least create a new version of them that felt more familiar.
Instead, I was met with the same reality again and again:
Things have changed.
I have changed.
And the question became: What am I going to do with that?

I hadn’t consciously realized I was striving against what life was offering me.
I thought I was rebuilding—bouncing back, creating a new life after my old one had burned to the ground.
At first, I felt motivated and inspired.
But slowly, all of that trying and striving began to feel pointless and futile, leaving me confused and wondering why nothing was working out or coming together the way I had hoped.
I wonder if you can relate to this in your own way. That feeling of trying so hard to make something work, and slowly noticing it’s costing more energy than it’s giving back.

Awareness has recently opened the door to something new: a different relationship with what is here.
A turning toward the practice of not fighting what is present, but honoring it.
Trusting that what is here is what is asking to be met.
To honor the changes that are happening within us and around us is an invitation into a deeper practice.
To honor the body when it asks for rest.
To honor disappointment when something doesn’t feel the way we imagined it would.
To honor grief when a season of life has come to an end.
To honor joy when it unexpectedly arrives.
To honor the reality that growth and change often ask us to let go of something familiar before we can fully embrace what is next.
So for now, I am practicing this:
To notice what is here.
And to honor it, as best I can.
What are you noticing right now?
And is there something in your life that is asking to be honored rather than fought?
If so, leave a comment below.
I'd love to hear from you so we can practice together. 🌿
